Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and modification of automated equipment and of troubleshooting electrical issues. This role will also handle standard corrective actions and preventative maintenance, as well as purchasing and keeping inventory of spare and replacement parts.

  • Performs highly diversified electrical and electrical controls technical support related to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for facilities, process and operations, as well as new builds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

Machine Installations and Upgrades

  • Provides electrical installation support for new machinery installations and plant upgrades, to include power and controls wiring of electrical equipment, such as transformers, motors, controllers, pumps and control systems, etc.

  • Supports the equipment expansion efforts as required and assigned

  • Inspects, services and, as required, calibrates: components of the safety systems, compressed air systems, and inert gas systems

  • Must have knowledge of both national and local electrical safety codes

  • Works from intricate wiring diagrams and schematic drawings involving the use of standard electrical symbols for power, control, and measurement

  • Works from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions as required

  • Installs and/or maintains motor, generators, lights, electronic equipment, transformers, switches, lightning arrestors, welding equipment, power and light lines, control panels, automatic controls, switchboards, etc.

  • Render assistance and manage contractors’ roles for electrical duties

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

  • Inspects, troubleshoots, diagnoses and provides electrical maintenance support of production machinery

  • Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the printed circuit boards

  • Organize safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling breakdowns

  • Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches, and set up sensing mechanism, using hand tools

  • Repairs or salvages old wiring or other electrical equipment

  • Grease, service, or replace bearing systems

  • Hydraulic system service and repair

Purchasing and Inventory of Spare Parts

  • Orders any needed parts and maintain inventory levels to prevent parts shortages that generate downtime

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements:
A high school diploma is required

Experience Requirements:
5+ years of experience; at least 3 years involving electrical work

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is usually performed in an office or manufacturing environment, utilizing standard manufacturing or office equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to move and use hands. The employee is constantly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
