Tighter discharge regulations, urbanization and increased water recycling efforts have made membrane bioreactors (MBR) the leading innovation in wastewater treatment compared to conventional activated sludge. BIO-CEL utilizes a unique membrane laminate that offers the best of the two predominant module configurations on the market (hollow fiber and plate & frame) without any of their inherent disadvantages.
Airports, hotels, hospitals, shopping centers, and other similarly-sized establishments need a simple and efficient way to treat wastewater generated at their locations. BIO-CEL® EASY was designed with these clients in mind. The pre-assembled, standalone system is small but mighty.
Equipped with membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, BIO-CEL® EASY is cutting-edge technology, ensuring excellent performance. Each module can treat up to 24 m³/d for municipal applications and 12 m³/d for industrial applications.
Hollow Fiber Modules
AQUADYN® modules use a unique 0.025 micron polyacrylonitrile (PAN) hollow fiber membrane that is hydrophilic, low-fouling, high-flux, and double asymmetric. The double asymmetric property allows the membrane to reject bacteria, solids and turbidity more effectively due to a filtration layer inside and outside the hollow fiber. Therefore, problems such as pore clogging during backflush do not occur. It is ideal for treating oily water.
PureULTRA UF modules are constructed using highly hydrophilic modified PVDF hollow fiber membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.05 micron. The outside-in flow configuration contributes to easier cleaning as it keeps the solids, pathogens, and other foulants on the outside of the fibers. The fiber is designed to handle most feed water sources and tolerate solids loadings while operating within an optimal flux range. It rejects particulate matter, Giardia cysts, and Cryptosporidium oocysts, and can helps in virus removal.
iSep™ 500 ultrafiltration (UF) modules feature a vacuum-driven, backwashable, spiral-wound membrane design to handle high fouling water and wastewater streams. With open feed channels and an integrated tank design, iSep modules can handle significantly higher solids than many standard polymeric UF designs on the market today.
With the ability to directly treat some of the most difficult water and wastewater streams, iSep is able to drastically reduce capital and operational costs while simplifying the overall treatment process.
Capillary & Tubular Modules
MICRODYN tubular & capillary microfiltration modules are a filtration method for the separation of suspended particles or emulsified liquids. SEPRODYN® crossflow microfiltration modules are used to separate suspended solids larger than 1.0 micron. High mechanical strength, backwashable membrane in a wide range of membrane types make ULTRADYN™ hollow fiber modules suitable for all applications requiring a high level of purification and high packing density.
MICRODYN-NADIR offers a full line of reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF), ultrafiltration (UF) and microfiltration (MF) membranes for rolling spiral wound membrane elements and for use in plate & frame devices. TRISEP® and NADIR® membranes are used in a wide variety of process separations in addition to water purification.
